Cafayate

February 28, 2013

After attending the second largest Carnival party in Argentina, I made my way further west to Cafayate (part of the Salta wine region).  The small town was perfect for hiring a bike and dropping in on wineries to taste their pride varietal - Torrontes.  Certainly a new favorite of mine!  I also couldn't miss a chance to tour a small goat cheese farm.  The little guys were more than photogenic as you'll see below.

About an hour outside of town (the opposite way of the looming Andes Mountains) is Quebrada Cafayate, or as it felt to me...Mars.  Stunning red stone carved over years of river flow.
One of my favorite parts of the trip so far!
Hasta luego!

And one of me for good measure...and for those not on Facebook.
